2008 Leatherneck 5K Run
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you for your support at the previous Leatherneck Runs!
We had a FANTASTIC run last year and we’re expecting a MUCH bigger crowd this year. We’re setting up a PRE-REGISTERED runners table again so everything will be filled out for you beforehand. Your shirts will already be set aside with your Runners Numbers wrapped around it waiting for youJ. There will be a SAME DAY registration booth available if you want to bring some friends at the last minute. As always,
The local USMC Reserve unit will be running in formation (100 or so)
The Heart of Texas Young Marines and their Drum & Bugle Corps will perform Morning Colors (flag raising) ceremony
We’ll have a big birthday cake out there for the Marines
The Gypsy & The Ghost Train Band volunteered to come out and play for us again this year..
The Young Marine Parents will be selling breakfast burritos to raise funds to support our local Young Marine Program.
The Heart of Texas Marine Corp League and Young Marines will have membership booths available.
We’re working on getting several vendors and we’ll have local news media out there as well.
Come on out and bring your family and friends!!! We’re looking forward to having a great time and seeing you all again. I’ve attached this year’s Runners registration flyer in MS Word format and I pasted it below without the graphics (in case you can’t open the attachment).
If you’d like to be a Sponsor and get your name, a loved one’s name or your company’s name/logo printed on the Runners shirts please email or call me. Behind this email I’ll sent the Sponsorship Form to you. If you need anything just let me know and please reply to this email so I know at least that your received it.
Please pass the word about the run to everyone you know and feel free to forward this email to whoever you want.
Sincerely,
Kurt Maupin,
